As I mentioned previously, we’re visiting the Phoenix area. Late on Monday afternoon we drove north of Scottsdale to Taliesin West, the winter home of Frank Lloyd Wright . This was Wright’s winter home for the last 20 years of his life. He spent summers at Taliesin in Wisconsin.
The home is full of unique features and original design concepts. Additionally, the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture conducts classes there 6 months of the year.
While the architecture of this particular home wasn’t necessarily my cup of tea compared to some of Wright’s other works, it was still pretty cool (despite being 110 degrees).
By the way, I’d recommend that you not wear a dark navy blue shirt on the tour since a lot of it is outside. Even the parts that are inside don’t necessarily include air conditioning.
Cheers,
Braddog
