2011 Bluegill Fishing Trip

This past weekend, we wrapped up our annual spring fishing trip.  Every year about this time, I meet my father & my brother at Kentucky Lake where we attempt to catch the crappie spawn.  Invariably, we miss it by a week or so one way or the other.  When that happens, we are pretty quick to switch our tactics and fish for Bluegill.

This year, we managed to catch and clean ~175 fish over the course of about 3 days of fishing.  We didn’t get much fishing in on the last day due to the cold, rainy weather.  But we all managed to go home with enough fish to have a nice fish fry.  I’ll plan mine for later this spring or early summer.

Here are a couple of photos and a link to my Flickr set from the trip.
